Georgios Danopoulos has been an of – counsel attorney at MICHAILOPOULOS & ASSOCIATES Law Firm since 2021.
He is an accomplished legal professional with a diverse and extensive career spanning several decades. With a strong educational background in law, Georgios has held various significant positions and contributed significantly to the field of public law, local governance and public procurement.
As the head of the Legal Service of the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (ΕΕΤΑΑ Α.Ε.) he provided advisory and consultative support to Local Authorities (ΟΤΑ) on matters related to public contracts, as well as the organization and operation of ΟΤΑ and their legal entities. He also participated in research related to local government matters and acted as a rapporteur during conferences, seminars, and workshops focusing on public law, public contracts, public administration, and local government.
Georgios has worked as a legal consultant for various government entities, including the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Shipping and the Aegean and the Ministry of Interior. has been involved in legislative initiatives and participated in legal committees aimed at revising and codifying Greek legislation, particularly in the field of local government.
Notably, he has been an expert for the Council of Europe on issues related to Inter-Municipal Cooperation within the framework of Technical Assistance for institutional strengthening of Local Government in Greece from February 2018 to the present and on matters concerning the institutional framework of civil protection policies, particularly in relation to Greek Local Authorities.
